Let's get your email set up 📬
Phone, tablet, or computer — these steps work on any device.
There are two parts. Before the switch, save a copy of your old email. Then after the switch, set up your new email wherever you read it. You don't need to know anything techy — just follow along.

Before the switch
While your old email still exists — before Friday, July 24.
Want to keep your old emails? 📦
Your old messages don't come across to the new service, so if there are any you want to keep, save a copy before Friday. Don't need them? You can skip this. Here's how:

After the switch
Once we've flipped over — Friday, July 24 onward.
Set this up with your new password —
the one I'll give you for the new email. It only starts working
after the switch on Friday, July 24, so there's
nothing to set up before then. Don't have your new password yet? Just
ask me. Your email address doesn't change — it's still the one ending
in @harleypig.com.
The settings
Your phone will ask you for these. Tap any box to copy it, then paste it in. They're the same for everyone — only your email and password are yours.
Incoming mail
IMAP Use this oneOutgoing mail
SMTPIf your app won't accept port 465, use 587 with “STARTTLS” instead — either works.
IMAP or POP3?
Some apps ask you to pick one. Here's the short version — when in doubt, pick IMAP.
📥 IMAP Pick this
Your mail lives on the server, so it looks the same on every device — your phone, a tablet, a laptop. Read it in one place, it's read everywhere. This is what you want.
📦 POP3
Only use this if your app doesn't offer IMAP.
POP3 downloads mail onto one device and usually
removes it from the server — so it won't show up anywhere else.
Same server, but use port 995.
Using Gmail? 📬
Gmail comes two ways, and they set up differently — so pick the one that matches how you check your mail. On your phone? That's almost always the app.

The Gmail icon on your phone or tablet. The easy one — it holds your harleypig.com email right alongside your other mail.

Gmail on a computer, at
gmail.com. A bit more work — Google changed how the
website handles outside email.
Don't want to set up an app?
You can always just read your mail right in a web browser — nothing to install. Log in with your harleypig.com email and your new password.
You can actually peek at this one early: as soon as you have your new password you can log in. It just won't send or receive real email until after the switch on Friday, July 24.
